Copy a prompt into the Code tab of the Claude desktop app and change the parts in brackets. Each one asks for one change, which is how you get good results: one change, check it in the browser, then the next. For why these work, see How to ask Claude.

Start and find your way

  • "Start my work app and open it in the browser."
  • "Is my app running? If not, start it on port 9950."
  • "Give me a tour of my app: what each module in the sidebar is for, in one line each."
  • "Which modules do I have, and which block is each one built on?"
  • "What changed in my app since yesterday?"

About: your role

  • "Interview me to fill in About. Ask one question at a time."
  • "Update About: my team is now [Customer Success, mid-size accounts]."
  • "Read About and tell me what is missing for someone new to understand my role."

People

  • "Add these people to People: [paste names, roles and organisations]."
  • "Add Maya Okafor, head of operations at Tallow & Co. We met at the handover in September."

Every day

Goals

Change a module

  • "Add a [Next step] column to Tasks, one line of text."
  • "Rename the [Organisation] column in People to [Company]."
  • "Move [Last contact] to be the second column in People."
  • "Remove the [Role] column from People. Keep the data in the file."
  • "Show Tasks as a table instead of a task list."

Build a module

  • "I want a module for my customer accounts. Ask me what columns it needs, then build it on the datatable block."

Wiki

Checkpoints and undo

  • "Save a checkpoint called [Accounts module added]."
  • "Undo your last change."
  • "Go back to the checkpoint from [this morning]. Tell me what will be lost first."
  • "List my checkpoints from this week."

When something breaks

  • "The page is blank. Find out why and fix it."
  • "I see this error: [paste the error]. What does it mean, and can you fix it?"
  • "My save was refused as a conflict. What happened?"
  • "Show me what you changed before I keep it."

Learn and grow

  • "Explain what you changed, in plain words, and what I should check on screen."
